What we do
An integrated, sequenced model — poultry first — connecting feed, production, animal health and farmers in one coordinated platform.
Feed production
Rehabilitating and operating the Ex-ALCOVIT industrial feed mill to supply quality-controlled compound feed for poultry, ruminants and fish.
→Poultry platform
Modern broilers and layers built around biosecurity, veterinary supervision and animal welfare — also a reference and training site.
→Franchise farms
We build, supply and operate professionally run poultry farms under the Orora system for landowners and investors.
→Farmer development
Training, inputs, animal-health support and market access — including smallholders as active commercial partners, not passive beneficiaries.
→Veterinary & animal health
Emerging veterinary and animal-health services to improve flock health and reduce reliance on uncertified inputs.
→Orora Nawe
A proposed national poultry program being explored in coordination with MINEAGRIE, designed around structured smallholder inclusion.
→Installed industrial assets at Ex-ALCOVIT
Orora Agro Group operates from installed industrial assets on the Ex-ALCOVIT site, Avenue de la Verrerie, in Bujumbura's Quartier Industriel. Reviving this industrial base is central to restoring a reliable national supply of quality-controlled compound feed and reducing dependence on imported feed and concentrates.
Adjacent to the feed mill, our modern poultry site operates as both a commercial farm and a reference site — demonstrating modern housing, biosecurity, veterinary supervision, animal welfare and producer training.

- Operating to standards expected by government and development-finance institutions

How the model works
Three integrated value chains, deployed sequentially — with poultry as the immediate anchor.
- 1
1 · Reliable feed
Industrial-scale, quality-controlled compound feed is the backbone of livestock productivity — produced at the Ex-ALCOVIT mill and supplied across the platform.
- 2
2 · Modern poultry
Broilers and layers raised with biosecurity, veterinary supervision and animal welfare — supplying the market and demonstrating modern standards.
- 3
3 · Structured inclusion
Farmers join through training, inputs, animal-health support, predictable economics and market access — as active commercial partners.

An execution plan
A disciplined, sequenced build — poultry first — rather than promises ahead of proof.
Orora Nawe — a proposed national poultry program
Building on our installed assets, Orora is exploring — in coordination with MINEAGRIE — the design of a national poultry program. Possible structures include public-private-producer (4P/PPPP) arrangements in which producers participate as active commercial partners, subject to joint technical validation and applicable procedures.
It is a proposal, not an operational program. Partners, DFIs, NGOs and government entities are welcome to open a first technical exchange.
